Location based AR - Concepting

Solo project - June 2023 until Juli 2023
In this project I came up with 3 new concepts which all use GPS data and Augmented Reality.

First I researched the following games. The goal here was to find all the strong and weak aspects of GPS and AR games.
Following that I also looked at different types of geological data i can use from different  organizations . For example:
- 3D models of the world
- Height Map
- Wind Speed
- Temperature
- Geological Regions

Based on the research, I came up with a MoSCoW of the project which was the following:

With all the aspects I established with the MoSCoW method, I created a form of a morphological chart.

I create different headings and under that think of phrases that fit. For example: One heading is “Motivation to move” under that i wrote: “Collecting of objects”. I repeat this for every heading.
All concepts need to use at least one phrase per heading to create a new concept. That way the concepts follow the demands I thought of with MoSCoW

These are the concepts which came out of this process: New Lands
New Lands is a survival game, based on soil data to gather various materials. You can trade with others via Points of Interest (POIs), and throughout the world, you can claim territories, each with a different function and color based on what you build. All territories are individual; others cannot conquer or alter them. They can only view them by visiting your profile. You can use the territories for large farms, or simply create cool pixel art. It draws much inspiration from Minecraft, in that there's no specific goal; it's all about exploration and creativity.
Rising Dread
There's a mysterious liquid rising from the sewer. Just in, news reports that if you fall into it, you'll immediately perish. Your goal is to survive as long as possible in this disaster scenario. You must ascend as high as you can before being engulfed.

In this game, you play with a group of friends, and it's intended to last a few hours. While trying to ascend, various points appear where you can rescue people. You'll receive a multiplier for your score for each person saved.

A major drawback of this game is that its quality heavily depends on the area where you play it. In the Netherlands, you wouldn't be able to play for very long because it's challenging to ascend very high. Ultimately, you reach the top of a building, and then it's over.

Go Flat City!In Go Flat City, you team up with others to demolish all the buildings you encounter using a variety of tools. Bombs, wrecking balls, rockets, lasers, tsunami waves, and other destructive items are at your disposal. For every building you destroy, you receive new items to demolish even more buildings. Additionally, scattered across the map are special buildings that are more challenging to destroy but yield very strong items.

Every week, all the buildings reset, and you receive a prize based on how much destruction you've caused compared to others. It's a competitive game where the goal is to be the most efficient and destructive team on the leaderboard.
